TAM Airlines’ Red and Black Frequent Flyer Card holders are being offered a special promotion which will allow them to maintain their Star Alliance Gold status following the airline’s exit from Star Alliance. In order to participate, customers simply select one of the following nine Frequent Flyer Programmes (FFPs):

Aeroplan (Air Canada)
Airpoints (Air New Zealand)
EuroBonus (Scandinavian Airlines)
MileagePlus (United, Copa Airlines)
Miles & Smiles (Turkish Airlines)
PhoenixMiles (Air China)
SA Voyager (South African Airways)
ShebaMiles (Ethiopian Airlines)
Victoria (TAP Portugal)

Once customers have received their new FFP number, they can request retention of their Star Alliance Gold status by logging on to a special page on the Star Alliance website and submitting electronic proof of a valid TAM Frequent Flyer Red or Black Card. As soon as the status match has been validated, the participating Star Alliance FFP will then send the customer a new card bearing the Star Alliance Gold status logo.

Customers who in addition to holding a TAM Red or Black Card already have a frequent flyer account with any of the nine participating Star Alliance member carrier FFPs, can go directly to the website and request the status match.

This promotion will run until 30 May 2014 (12.00 GMT).
