Carl V. Sladen Joins Caravelle Hotel in Saigon as DOSM

The Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh has appointed Carl V. Sladen as director of sales and marketing.

Sladen comes to the sunny southern metropolis fresh off his most recent post at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, another storied Vietnamese hotel.

His appointment coincides with the initial phase of a major, property-wide renovation at the 335-room hotel on Lam Son Square.

With hospitality sales experience in seven countries, Sladen has acted in key sales positions at five-star Four Seasons resorts and hotels in Mexico, Thailand, Japan and Australia.

Previous stints in Asia include Director of Sales at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, and Consulting Director of Marketing at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so.

Before relocating to Vietnam in 2011, Sladen also travelled and lectured extensively in China.
