A survey of 2,600 Singapore travellers has shown that 81% of respondents feel they couldn’t live without music on a flight, with two-thirds saying they would rather forget to pack their underwear than their headphones.

Conducted by Jetstar Asia, the survey shows that Singaporean travellers consider music a travel essential with 60% of respondents saying that creating a playlist for the flight has become part of their flight preparation routine.

Jetstar Asia and Deezer, a global music streaming service, are now offering Jetstar travellers between Singapore and Southeast Asia the opportunity to sign up for a free two-month Deezer Premium+ subscription.

A Deezer Premium+ subscription provides users unlimited access to over 30 million tracks on any device, online and offline. The offline mode will allow Jetstar travellers to enjoy their favourite music while travelling throughout the region, even without an Internet connection.

Jetstar Asia Regional Marketing Manager, Chantal van Wijnbergen said, “Music is such a universal way for travellers to be entertained on a flight so it is fantastic that we can offer our passengers free access to Deezer and their playlists so they can get into the mood of their travel destination.”

Dona Inthaxoum, Head of Label Relations for Asia and Oceania at Deezer added, “From our library of 30 million tracks, our music editors have curated the perfect playlists to enhance every trip that are in tune with users’ personal travel needs, giving each traveller a different way to consume music. Apart from international music, Jetstar travellers will also be able to discover and enjoy a diverse range of Asian music on Deezer, depending on their destination.”

Passengers booked on Jetstar Asia flights will find a link to redeem their 2-month Deezer Premium+ code on their confirmed flight itinerary. Users only need to answer three questions related to their destination, including their reason for travel and who their travel companions are, to receive their customised Deezer playlist of 20 songs.

In addition, a special radio widget will be available on Jetstar.com to allow customers to play music on-demand while browsing Jetstar’s products and fares.
