David Ng Joins International SOS Malaysia as GM

International SOS Malaysia has appointed David Ng as its new General Manager.

David was most recently the Managing Director for DHL Malaysia and Brunei where he led an organisation of 800 people and successfully drove the company’s revenue growth and profitability. His success earned him the Malaysia Business Award for Outstanding Leadership in Logistics in 2012.

Prior to that, David Ng was the Managing Director for DHL Express Indonesia for five years during which DHL Express Indonesia was awarded the country’s Most Admired Company Award for four consecutive years from 2006 to 2009.

With SOS he will oversee the following key entities:-

- International SOS Malaysia, providing membership services to our clients, supported by their Assistance Centre;
- The Asia Response Centre ( supporting oil and gas clients across the Asia region); and
- The SSEA Regional Office for Medical Services.

“David brings with him extensive corporate management and operational knowledge which will value add to International SOS’ key priority to expand its business in the energy, mining and infrastructure industry, corporate and government sectors,” said Philippe Huinck, International SOS’ Regional Managing Director for South and South East Asia. “Coupled with his strong leadership skills and valuable experience of distinguished international successes, I am confident that he will augment the company’s capabilities and strengthening its foothold and position in the Malaysian market,” he added.

David Ng holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.

He is currently a Director of the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales.
