Vivienne Gan Joins Langham as Vice President of Public Relations

Langham Hospitality Group has appointed Vivienne Gan to the newly created position of Vice President of Public Relations.

In her role, Ms Gan is responsible for all public relations matters pertaining to the hotel group, including publicizing the corporate brand messages, handling crisis communications and media training, and enhancing the profiles of the group's portfolio of brands.

Ms Gan has 20 years experience in the luxury hospitality and media industries; most recently, she headed the global public relations division at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, overseeing PR initiatives for the groups hotels over three brands.

Prior to that, she was with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as the regional director of public relations, Middle East and Africa. She also served as the director of public relations with The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Bahrain and Singapore.

Ms Gan was also the director of communications at the former Kahala Mandarin Oriental in Hawaii from 2002 to 2005. She was posted to the Aloha State from her previous role as head of the corporate public relations at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts.

Ms Gan started her media and public relations career as an on-air broadcast journalist specializing in travel and food stories at Mediacorp TV Singapore.

Ms Gan holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Communication Management from University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from York University in Toronto, Canada. She is currently based in Hong Kong at the corporate office.
