Mark Deere Appointed GM of Yas Island Rotana & Centro Yas Island

Mark Deere has been appointed as General Manager of Yas Island Rotana & Centro Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Mark will manage overall operations of these two Rotana properties, and also spearhead the growth of hospitality business in the destination as it continues to attract guests from all around the world.

Mark holds a BSc Honours Degree in Hotel and Catering Management from the University of Surrey in England, and had started his career with the front office department at Ritz Hotel.

His career flourished in various domains of the hotel industry before his first opportunity to work in the UAE came in 2004, when Mark took on the position of General Manager at the Hilton Dubai Creek.

Mark eventually headed the team in Hilton Hanoi Opera before welcoming another opportunity to return to the UAE, this time joining Rotana Hotels as General Manager of Arjaan by Rotana in Dubai.

Mark said, "I am delighted to be here with both teams on Yas Island – the Rotana and Centro Teams. It is exciting times and the welcome I have received has been very warm. Yas Island is proving to be an increasingly attractive venue for all segments and I look forward to working with everyone here to capitalise on this and drive things forward.”
