The Banyan Tree Bangkok is gearing up for the “15th Vertical Marathon”, which will take place on Sunday, 6 October 2013 from 6.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.

Athletes race up 61 stories to the finishing point at the award winning Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar, one of the highest al fresco restaurants in Asia.

Those who participate or come to support their friends will be contributing their part in Banyan Tree Bangkok’s long-term efforts to support HIV-positive mothers through the HIV Formula Feeding Fund organised by the Thai Red Cross and Red Crescent Society under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali.

In 2012, Mr. Henrik Jannborg defended his title in 6 minutes and 45 seconds and Ms. Bridget Robertson defended her title in 7 minutes and 19 seconds in male and female categories.

The nominal registration fee of THB 350 nett per person includes the official marathon T-shirt and a meal box.

Trophies from HRH Princess Soamsawali, luxurious accommodation and gift vouchers are also up for grabs for winners of all categories.

The multi-national faces on that day will include professional and amateur runners, locals as well as international participants. Runners will be divided into gender and age categories, and they may team up for couple and relay teams.

Registration is available online until 30 September or at Banyan Tree Bangkok’s Front Desk. Participants may also register at the event on 6 October from 06:00 to 07:00 at the main entrance of Banyan Tree Bangkok.
