Marriott Named Official Hotel Partner of Rugby League World Cup 2013

Marriott Hotels & Resorts has been named as the Official Hotel Partner of the Rugby League World Cup 2013 tournament.

As the Official Hotel Partner, Marriott will host all 14 competing nations at base camps across the UK and Ireland.

Sally Bolton, RLWC2013 Tournament General Manager, said, “It’s fantastic that we are able to announce Marriott Hotels & Resorts as our Official Hotel Partner. They will provide an excellent service to our teams and just as importantly to both our home fans and the influx of overseas visitors the tournament will bring. This announcement is a great way for us to kick off the year and is the first of a raft of partnerships we will be announcing over the coming months.”

Rugby League World Cup 2013 kicks off on Saturday, 26 October 2013 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, with matches played in England, Wales, Ireland and France.

The competition's structure will consist of two groups of four and two groups of three.

England are drawn alongside arch-rivals Australia as well as Fiji and Ireland in Group A.

Rugby League World Cup holders New Zealand will face Pacific Island rivals Papua New Guinea and Samoa along with France in Group B.

Scotland will face Tonga and Italy in Group C, while joint hosts Wales have been drawn against the Cook Islands and the USA in Group D.
