AirAsia’s BIG Loyalty Programme members will soon be able to redeem seats on AirAsia flights from as low as 0 BIG Points (not inclusive of airport tax and fuel surcharge) during the 24-hour priority redemption period on Monday, 1 April 2013 (0001hrs to 2359hrs: GMT+8).

The priority redemption period is part of AirAsia’s upcoming Free Seats campaign which will see 2,000,000 promotional seats go up for grabs when the sale opens up to the rest of the public on 2-7 April 2013.

Alice Goh, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia BIG said, “Priority redemption is only one of the many benefits that an AirAsia BIG Shot is entitled to when they sign up. This time around, they can actually redeem free flights as soon as they sign up as seats are going from 0 BIG Points one way.”

The AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme was launched in Malaysia back in November 2011, followed by Indonesia a month later; and Thailand in February 2012. It has since received over 452,000 applications globally, comprising 150 nationalities.

Alice Goh added, “We are the only regional airline loyalty programme around, and with an exhaustive and growing list of merchants such as Petronas, Central in Thailand, Starhub and Bank Mandiri, BIG Shots are able to earn BIG Points from almost anywhere in the world. No other loyalty programme offers free flights on the world’s best low cost airline, AirAsia – indirectly providing all our valued BIG Shots with exclusive access to the best air travel network throughout the region.”

AirAsia BIG Loyalty Programme is borderless and open to anyone aged two and above, anywhere in the world. Membership is free for those who opt to go without the physical BIG Card, and a minimal fee of MYR10 is charged for those who prefer to have a physical membership card. BIG Shots are able to earn BIG Points as soon as they complete the sign up process when they shop with any of the BIG associated merchants online at ShopBIG, which is BIG’s online shopping mall.

In Malaysia, BIG Shots can also opt for the BIG VISA Prepaid Card for a fee of MYR10, and cardholders can reload at all major banks or online at AirAsia BIG’s website. Cardholders can shop at millions of merchants worldwide where VISA is accepted, both online and over the counter.

“Anyone with a valid Malaysian address can apply for the BIG VISA Prepaid Card, which will accelerate an AirAsia BIG Shot’s ability to earn BIG Points as they can also earn 1 BIG Point with every MYR2 spent on their BIG VISA Prepaid Card,” said Alice.
