Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (FRHI), the parent company of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, has appointed Jeff Tisdall as Vice President, Residential Development, Asia Pacific and India.

In this newly created position, Tisdall will be responsible for FRHI’s residential development and mixed use projects in Asia Pacific and India including previously announced developments in Jakarta, Bali, Delhi and several of China’s largest cities.

“We have aggressive expansion plans for all of our hotel brands in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in China and India, and strongly believe that many of these developments will include a residential component,” said James Kaplan, Senior Vice President, Development, Asia Pacific and India. “We believe our branded residences are particularly well positioned to help developers set themselves apart in competitive markets while meeting the needs of affluent residential buyers. Jeff’s global experience in the branded residential sector combined with his extensive knowledge of the region, make him the perfect candidate to oversee our residential growth in these emerging markets.”

Tisdall joins FRHI from LIFT, a Singapore-based business expansion solutions provider, where he served as co-founder and Managing Director. Before that, he was Managing Director, RCI Middle East for Wyndham Exchange & Rental.

Earlier in his career, he held several senior management positions at Intrawest Corporation where he spent 13 years, and also served as Vice President of Real Estate at Kingdom Hotel Investments.

Tisdall, who will be based out of the company’s Singapore office, holds an Honours Degree in Political Science from McGill University in Montreal.
