W Guangzhou Appoints New GM

Peter Katusak-Huzsvar has been appointed as the new General Manager of the first W hotel in mainland China, the W Guangzhou.

Katusak-Huzsvar has more than 20 years of hospitality leadership experience.

Prior to W Guangzhou, Katusak-Huzsvar served as General Manager of W St. Petersburg, where he was responsible for all pre-opening and opening activities of the hotel. He came to W St. Petersburg from W Doha Hotel and Residences, where he held the title of Director of Operations during the hotel’s pre-opening and opening phases.

Before then, Katusak-Huzsvar was at another Starwood hotel, Le Meridien Budapest, where he served as Executive Assistant Manager and was responsible for the daily operation of guest reception, concierge, bell service, housekeeping, laundry, health club, business center and security departments, as well as the food and beverage outlets and banquet operations.

Prior to that he worked in several other Budapest hotels, including art’otel as Front Office Manager; and Kempinski Hotel Corvinus as Assistant Front Office Manager, a role in which he also served at Kempinski Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Münich.
