The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has confirmed that the Chinatown Food Street (CFS), located on Smith Street, will be closed from 1 May 2013 for renovations.

As a result of this closure, shophouse units 9 – 29 and 37 – 41 will be affected. All other units will remain operational. Smith Street will also continue to be open to traffic until further notice.

The revitalisation of CFS is part of STB and Chinatown Business Association’s efforts to ensure that the precinct remains attractive and relevant in today’s context.

The renovation and subsequent operation of CFS will be undertaken by Select Group Ltd.

The newly refurbished CFS is scheduled to open in Q4 2013.
