Best Western International has signed its first
ever hotel in the Myanmars capital, Nay Pyi Taw.
The 205-room
Best Western Premier The Grand At Nay Pyi Taw is scheduled to welcome
its first guests in the Q2 2014.
Myanmar has made great strides in recent years, opening up to
the international community and allowing a new generation of
visitors to see all the wonders this magical country has to
offer, said said Glenn de Souza, Best Westerns Vice President of
International Operations for Asia and the Middle East. Nay Pyi Taw, as the countrys modern capital, is
at the very heart of this development. In hosting several major
events, including this years Southeast Asian Games, the city is
truly opening up to the world. I have no doubt that Nay Pyi Taw
will experience a surge in business and leisure tourism in the
coming years, and with the signing of this new hotel, Best Western
is perfectly placed help the city grow.
Following the signing ceremony, Mr. de Souza joined
members of the hotel project team, officials from Myanmars
Ministry of Hotels & Tourism, and other guests of the owning
companys chairman, for a special dinner to celebrate the
occasion.
Earlier this month, Best Western signed its
first hotel in Myanmar - the Green Hill Hotel in Yangon.
