Savills Corporate Sevens Aims to Raise HK$ 1 Million for Pitch Perfect

Savills have hit the refresh button and the tournament historically known as the ‘Professions Sevens’ now has a new home and a new name.

The newly christened Corporate Sevens will take place on Sunday, 1 December 2013. Sixteen of Hong Kong’s pre-eminent corporate companies will take to the So Kon Po recreation ground to see who will be King of the Corporate Sevens.

Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the tournament was originally founded by David Davies to introduce social rugby to the suits of Hong Kong in support of charity and over the years has grown into one of Hong Kong’s much loved family days out.

This year, the Savills Corporate Sevens charity focus is bigger than ever, together with the Macquarie Group, their newly onboard Silver Sponsor, they aim to raise one million dollars for a project aptly named Pitch Perfect.

Po Leung Kuk children have recently started playing mini rugby; they now have more than 1200 children between the ages of 5 – 12 years playing. The holiday camp donated to Po Leung Kuk in Yuen Long has 3 derelict tennis courts, which with proper attention, can be turned into a multi surface pitch suitable for playing rugby and a variety of sports. ‘Pitch Perfect’ aims to raise sufficient funds to carry out this work and hence provide the children of Po Leung Kuk and the Yuen Long community with a top notch sports playing field.

Savills Deputy Managing Director, Nick Bradstreet said, "We are delighted that our 30th Anniversary tournament has been received so well in the corporate world. Proof yet again that Hong Kong is a caring and fun loving community willing to get behind a good cause. We invite all fun loving, rugby loving folk to come down to So Kon Po and help us achieve our goal on Sunday 1 December."

Gates open at 9am, with the final game at 18:45.

The IRC will be home to the Corporate Sevens Village where the team hospitality, food and beverage kiosks and a ‘fun for all’ kids zone will be the order of the day.

Entrance is free and lots of parking is available in the vicinity.
