Longines Hong Kong Masters Confirms Gucci as Lead Sponsor

[HD videos below] EEM World, the organizer of the Masters Grand Slam Indoor, one of the leading indoor equestrian events in the world, has confirmed Gucci as lead sponsor on the second round of its calendar, the Longines Hong Kong Masters.

Held at the AsiaWorld-Expo from 28 February to 2 March 2013, this first edition of the second round of the Masters Grand Slam Indoor promises to carry forward the tradition of the Gucci Paris Masters.

When first established in 2009, upon Gucci’s return to equestrian sponsorship after an absence of 20 years, the Gucci Paris Masters immediately established itself as one of the world’s most prestigious indoor equestrian competitions. Now following Paris, Hong Kong becomes the place to be in 2013 for the most prestigious equestrian events. A noteworthy calendar welcomes the world’s 25 best riders and horses.

Gucci’s partnership with the Longines Hong Kong Masters is the latest extension of the house’s relationship with the equestrian world. When Guccio Gucci first opened his company in 1921 in Florence, horse riding often inspired the motifs and symbols of his designs. Over the years, Gucci’s green-red-green web stripe, appropriated from a horse’s girth strap, as well as the Gucci horsebit have become iconic design components ingrained in the house’s history. Today Gucci sponsors 2012 GCT champion Edwina Tops-Alexander and holds the Gucci Paris Masters every year.
