Hala Azam Elected as Chairperson of AACO Emergency Response Planning Taskforce

Gulf Airs Manager of Emergency Response Planning and Security, Mrs. Hala Azam has been elected, for a three year term, to the position of Chairperson of the Arab Air Carriers Organizations (AACO) first Emergency Response Planning Taskforce (ERPTF).

Established to enhance the level of Emergency Response Management capabilities in the region, the newly-formed team will work closely with IATA, the airlines world-wide trade association, to help establish a global framework of emergency best practices.

Congratulating Mrs. Azam, Gulf Air Chief Operations Officer Mr. Nasser Al Salmi said, An airlines main priority is the safety and security of its passengers; however should an emergency arise, preparation is critical. It is absolutely essential to have a strong team, which is professionally trained to handle various aspects of an emergency situation. Gulf Airs Emergency Response Team is led by Hala; with over 20 years of experience in Gulf Air, she is ideally positioned to lead the AACO Emergency Response Planning Taskforce. I congratulate her on her achievement as the first Bahraini female to lead a regional ERPTF and I wish her all the best.

Mrs. Azam said, I am delighted to be part of the newly formed regional AACO taskforce. In an emergency situation coordination and cooperation are key and the new AACO taskforce will facilitate experience sharing and planning to enhance both emergency response management capabilities and the preparedness level across the region in case of an emergency.

Gulf Air has a robust Emergency Response system in place that can be activated by the airlines Chief Operations Officer in the event of an emergency.
