STR Reports Asia Pacific Hotel Pipeline for October 2013

According to the October 2013 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report, the Asia Pacific hotel development pipeline comprises 1,875 hotels totalling 414,053 rooms.

The total active pipeline data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages but does not include projects in the Pre-Planning stage.

Among the markets in the region, Manila, Philippines reported the largest expected supply growth (+37.4%) if all 8,838 rooms in the total active pipeline open.

Four other markets reported expected supply growth of more than 25%: Bengaluru, India (33.5% with 5,766 rooms); Delhi, India (30.3% with 8,732 rooms); Chengdu, China (26.4% with 9,145 rooms); and Jakarta, Indonesia (26.3% with 9,262 rooms).
