Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has launched a mobile booking app called CWT Online China that enables China-based business travelers to book domestic travel via their smartphone.

CWT released an international online booking tool, also called CWT Online specifically for the Chinese market in September.

As more and more leisure travelers use mobile devices to plan and purchase travel, CWT China has followed suit by developing a mobile booking app that provides business travelers access to real time data and makes the booking process quick, easy and efficient.

Albert Zhong, General Manager, CWT China said, “We are the first and only Travel Management Company (TMC) in China to launch a mobile app to book business travel ... our in-house IT team has independently created this app using the latest technology to produce a user-friendly app that is available across multiple platforms.”

The mobile app allows the business traveler to book a business trip anytime, anywhere and there are also plans to increase the functionality of the mobile app to include international bookings in the near future.

CWT Online China also allows access to a wide range of domestic, in-country services, including booking, itinerary, changes in travel schedule and location-based information. The app cooperates with a company’s travel policy and has a built in approval process.

Mr. Zhong said “moving to a mobile version of the booking tool means travelers can book travel when they are on the go. The app has also been certified and passed the security testing based on industry standards (Mobile OWASP Top 10).”

Exclusive to CWT China the app is now available to CWT travelers on iOS and Android, and is expected to be available on Blackberry and Windows Phones soon.
