Langham Signs Hotel in Jakarta

Langham has signed an agreement with Agung Sedayu Group to operate a Langham hotel in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

Located within the new complex of District 8 at SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District) with easy access and close proximity to the city’s most important financial, cultural and entertainment centres, The Langham, Jakarta is expected to open in 2017.

“The Indonesian capital has long been a key aspiration for Langham Hospitality Group and we have waited a long time to find the perfect opportunity to add to The Langham collection,” said Brett Butcher, chief executive officer of Langham Hospitality Group. “The hotel and residences, both of which will bear The Langham name, will be an integral cornerstone in this new super complex of District 8. Together with the owning company Agung Sedayu Group, we look forward to creating a prestigious luxury lifestyle centre that will be a landmark in Jakarta.”

Designed by the Singapore office of Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart (SSRS) – one of the world’s top 10 international architectural firms - The Langham, Jakarta, with 170 well-appointed rooms and 30 suites - will feature classic but elegantly contemporary interiors, with exacting attention to detail, reflective of the brand’s heritage as one of the premier grand hotels in Europe.

Starting from 42 square metres to the opulently elegant 327-square metre penthouse, The Langham, Jakarta has a wide range of rooms, studio, one and two bedroom suites to suit business, corporate groups or guests travelling for leisure.

In particular, the suites at The Langham, Jakarta boast some of the best views in the city.

The Chuan Spa will provide treatments inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) philosophies in a serene, meditative setting. This 670 square meter (7,211 square foot) spa will offer private treatment rooms as well as a fully-equipped fitness centre and an indoor swimming pool.

As the perfect setting for society weddings, high-level conferences, special social events and luxury product launches, The Langham, Jakarta will showcase more than 2,100 square meters (22,600 square foot) of flexible space, including a magnificent 900-square meter (9,680 square foot) ballroom that is divisible by two, along with an additional 11 meeting rooms.

Complementing the hotel will be The Langham Residences with 57 apartments set over 19 floors in the same tower. THe Residences are also due for completion in 2017.
