Etihad Airways Appoints Craig Thomas as VP Asia Pacific North and Indian Subcontinent

Etihad Airways has appointed Craig Thomas as its new Vice President Asia Pacific North and the Indian Subcontinent.

Craig relocates to Bangkok from his current role as Manager Sales Victoria in Australia and will replace Adam Phillips who is returning to Abu Dhabi to take up the position of Vice President Commercial Strategy and Planning.

Craig will be responsible for sales in the markets of Bangladesh, Belarus, China, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

“We are delighted to appoint Craig to the role of Vice President Asia Pacific North and the Indian Subcontinent which will see him return to Bangkok, a city he knows well from his time as Etihad Airways’ Thailand Country Manager,” said Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer. “Craig has held a number of key sales roles, in markets across the Etihad Airways network, and he will bring this crucial knowledge of the business to the new role which covers an important global region.”

Craig has previously held the roles of Country Manager Thailand, Country Manager South Africa, and Sales Manager South Africa.

Craig will start his new role in Bangkok from 1 January 2014 and will report directly to Abu Dhabi-based, Vice President Global Sales, Danny Barranger.
