Sheikh Majid Al Mualla has been appointed as Emirates Airline’s Divisional Senior Vice President (DSVP) Commercial Operations - Centre.

His geographical responsibilities now cover the Gulf, Middle East, Iran, as well as West Asia.

Previously, Sheikh Majid held the position of Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations (Gulf, Middle East & Iran).

Sheikh Majid joined Emirates as a management trainee in 1996 after graduation from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida.

“The fact that he joined the company as a trainee and worked his way up through the ranks says a great deal about his commitment and ability,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “Majid is a tremendous asset to the airline and has contributed a great deal to the business in his different roles over the years.”

Sheikh Majid’s current projects include overseeing the newly-launched Kabul route and the start of A380 services to Mauritius, effective 16 December 2013. The airline operated a one-off A380 service to Mauritius earlier this year.

The role of DSVP, Commercial Operations – Centre is flanked geographically by the DSVP Commercial Operations - West, Hubert Frach, and the DSVP Commercial Operations East, Barry Brown.
