Travelport Appoints GM for Malaysia

Travelport has appointed Mohamad Islahudin Abdullah as General Manager for Malaysia.

Islahudin takes over the role from Jason Ong, who has been promoted to Commercial Director Asia to manage the partnerships with Travelports Worldspan and Galileo GDS distribution partners in the region.

As the General Manager for Malaysia, Islahudin will be responsible for driving business growth and leading commercial operations across the region.

Islahudin has more than twelve years experience in the travel and automotive industries. Previously, he spent 10 years at Abacus Malaysia where he held several senior leadership positions and was instrumental in implementing various structural changes in the company.

Islahudin is based in Kuala Lumpur and will report into Patrick Andres, Travelports Vice President & Regional Managing Director, Asia-Pacific.

Commenting on the appointment, Andres said, I would like to congratulate Jason on his promotion. He has done an exceptional job leading our Malaysia team for the past three years and I know he will continue to deliver in his new role. At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Isla to the Travelport family as he brings outstanding industry experience and has a significant track record as an innovative leader and strategic thinker.

Islahudin holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from University of Greenwich (UK).
