Cense by Spa Cenvaree, the spa brand recently launched by Centara Hotels & Resorts, has opened its first stand-alone branch.

Located in the heart of Phuket Island, and directly opposite Central Festival Phuket, Cense by Spa Cenvaree covers an area of 160,000 square metres and is one of the largest spas in the region.

With a selection of treatments ranging from the traditional to the modern, the spa has a multifaceted village design evoking all the exoticism of Southern Thailand.

The theme of natural lotus ponds and a tranquil lush garden continues throughout the spa, aromatic scents permeate the air, and music adds to the gentle ambience.

The spa menu includes a range of treatments including traditional massage, rubs and body wraps using herbs and other natural ingredients, holistic rituals that have their origins deep within Thai history and culture, and an exotic blend of East and West therapies. Jurlique Organic facials are available for those seeking a pampering spa day.

The extensive facilities include 38 single treatment rooms and 22 couple rooms. There are 4 VIP suites complete with wet facilities, and a private Thai massage pavilion with 45 treatment beds.

Wet facilities include steam and sauna, heated outdoor jacuzzi, cold plunge pool, and foot reflexology. There is a mediation and yoga room, and a foot massage pavilion with 20 relaxation chairs.

The spa has its own herb garden, and there is a comfortable waiting room with complimentary refreshments where guides and drivers can also wait.

Cense works on a ‘’quick-service’’ basis with relaxation benefits as the centre of its core service. The spa focuses on providing affordable treatments, and is a perfect time-saver for guests who do not have two or three hours to spend in a full-service spa but who still want to enjoy a quick "escape" and create time to treat themselves as part of a busy schedule.

Cense does away with the frills of extensive water facilities and rituals but provides the same foundational massage techniques as does a five-star spa.

Guests can choose from hot-oil aromatherapy massage, relaxing foot massage, or the traditional remedies that include Thai massage and herbal compress massage. Massages can also be tailored to fir individual preferences to combine with all natural body care and express facials.
