Amadeus has signed a multi-year full content agreement with Australian airline, Virgin Australia, to guarantee Amadeus subscribers worldwide access to the carrier’s full range of fares, inventory and schedules.

The global agreement with Amadeus will support the airline’s evolution into a full service offering and grow its corporate and international business.

With this agreement, Virgin Australia’s domestic and long haul schedules, fares, last seat availability and associated inventory will be available through the Amadeus system under the same conditions as that offered through the airline’s website and other distribution channels. It will also ensure Virgin Australia’s fares and schedules are available via many points of sale to better serve travellers.

David Brett, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific said, “Amadeus is proud to work with Virgin Australia as the company moves to address the needs of the corporate traveller. Our advanced technology provides the highest level of integration and efficiency making us the ideal distribution partner for Virgin Australia. Our global network of travel agency points of sale, a large sector of which are based in Asia Pacific, will help our airline partners, like Virgin Australia, reach more travellers, both business and leisure.”

Sari Vahakoski, Managing Director, Amadeus IT Pacific added, “Amadeus is pleased to celebrate this important agreement with Virgin Australia, which will see full content distributed via the GDS for the first time. Amadeus agents will be able to book, modify and cancel the full range of Virgin Australia fares via Amadeus Selling Platform and our online channels, including Amadeus eTravel Management, e-Power and via web services. Virgin Australia's move towards GDS distribution, which gives them unparalleled access to travel agents globally, demonstrates their commitment to competing in the corporate travel space.”
