Hilton has signed a management agreement with Magnolia Finest Corporation to introduce the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in Southeast Asia, and Hilton Worldwide’s ninth property in Thailand.

The 170-room Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is scheduled to open in 2015.

The Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is located along Ratchadamri Road, a central location that is ideal for guests wanting to visit some of the city’s finest dining places, entertainment venues, popular shopping complexes such as Central World and Siam Paragon.

Towering 60-storeys above the city and built as a mixed-used development, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok will offer guests fine culinary experiences at its all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, two bars and lounge.

Sitting between the Chit Lom and Ratchadamri BTS stations, the hotel will have 170 guest rooms (including 34 suites) sized at a minimum of 50 square-meters, making them one of the largest hotel rooms in Bangkok.

The hotel will have two spacious ballrooms and nine meeting rooms, a fitness center and spa, as well as an outdoor pool.

Andrew Clough, senior vice president, development, Middle East & Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide, said, “Bangkok is a truly international and sophisticated city, and we are pleased to be working with an established partner like Magnolia Finest Corporation Limited in showcasing our famous luxury brand for the first time in Southeast Asia, in this major gateway city. Hilton Worldwide has been in Thailand since 1983 and today’s announcement marks the entry of our fourth brand in Thailand, following currently trading Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels & Resorts branded properties as well as the opening of our first DoubleTree by Hilton property in Bangkok next year. With six operating hotels in Thailand, two of which are in Bangkok, we look forward to continued growth with the introduction of the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok.”

Hilton Worldwide currently manages six properties in Thailand including Conrad Bangkok, Millennium Hilton Bangkok, Hilton Pattaya, Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa, Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa and Conrad Koh Samui, and will open Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and DoubleTree by Hilton, Sukhumvit Bangkok in 2013.
