Vanessa Kong Joins Batam Resort as DOSM

Ms. Vanessa Kong has been appointed as Director of Sales and Marketing at Montigo Resorts Nongsa, a sprawling 12-hectare property located on the exclusive north-east shore of Batam Island, Indonesia.

Ms. Kong, who has over 16 years’ experience in the hotel and hospitality industry, will spearhead sales and marketing functions of the 133 all-villa resort. She will be responsible for the development and execution of all marketing initiatives to drive sales opportunities for Montigo Resorts Nongsa, as well as recruiting and leading her team to maximize the operational efficiency of this much anticipated leisure destination.

Ms. Kong joins Montigo Resorts Nongsa from Dusit Hotels and Resorts in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Dusit Princess City Centre. During her six-year stint with Dusit International, she headed the sales and marketing departments of Dusit Princess City Centre and Dusit Residence Dubai Marina.

Ms. Kong’s career has spanned the Middle East and Asia. Prior to her career in Dubai, she held managerial positions at the Shangri-La and Mandarin Oriental Hotels in Singapore, where she was actively involved in handling events and activities for both corporate and MICE clients. Prior to this, she was based in Sheraton Subang Hotel and Tower as well as the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park in Malaysia.

A Malaysian national, Ms. Kong holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Kansas State University.
