Finnair is once again carrying out a Change for Good collection on international flights over the Christmas period in cooperation with UNICEF Finland.

This years campaign collection target is the UNICEF Schools for Asia programme, supporting education for children in 11 Asian countries.

The main aim of Schools for Asia is to provide basic, quality education to millions of children across the Asian continent. A special focus is on marginalized and vulnerable children living in remote areas or regions of extreme poverty.

Change for Good will be carried out on almost all international flights over a six week period. The idea is simple: passengers are able to place cash donations of any denomination, including small value coins, in the special envelopes provided in aircraft seat pockets. Cabin crew members will then collect the envelopes during the flight and deliver them to UNICEF.

Also, Finnair Plus loyal customers can donate their Finnair Plus points for use by UNICEF Finland.

Finnair and UNICEF are putting into practice the traditional Change for Good collection campaign on our flights for the seventeenth time now, said Arja Suominen, SVP, Communications and Corporate Responsibility. As an international childrens organization, UNICEF is an excellent cooperation partner for us with which we share the same values. Over the years the collections which we have carried out have helped to improve livelihoods in developing countries in effective and concrete ways.

The campaign period started yesterday, 26 November 2012, and will run until 6 January 2013.
