Bangkoks most prestigious flea market, the much-awaited Clutter Sale for Charity, now on its sixth year, will be held on Saturday, 4 February 2012, from 10 am to 6 pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok on Rajdamri Road.

The event, organized by The NewsMakers, a group of charity-minded friends in media, PR and the arts, has raised millions for cancer research since its inception in 2006.

This years recipient is Chulalongkorn Hospitals 'Hematological Cancer Research Centre' under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross.

Over 70 booths will be offering primarily unused or nearly-new good-quality second-hand items some donated by VIPs, Thai celebs and the expat community.

The sheer variety of items on sale is overwhelming, and most are unused or nearly-new second-hand products in mint condition. Past events have seen, among others, certified brand-name goods, vintage clothes, fashion accessories, jewellery, home decor, suitcases, sports equipment, even the occasional sports car, SUV, motorcycle, and antiques.

Companies, such as ICC, have also donated their factory overruns while fashion houses such as Kai Boutique and Paothong, have sold their slightly used catwalk outfits.

Those thinking of hosting a small party anytime soon would be wise to take advantage of a Special Online Auction for a shot at having Four Seasons Hotel Manager and former chef Avi Haksar personally prepare a five-course dinner for 8 with corresponding wine at Madisons private dining room. Bids, starting at 1,000 baht, are accepted until 3 February at 3 pm.

And, if youre not rubbing elbows with celebrities and VIPs who will be selling their personal clutter, join a Lucky Draw for a chance to win air tickets to romantic Maldives, courtesy of Bangkok Airways as well as hotel stays, home appliances and other attractive prizes.
