Hertz has launched Hertz Rent a Boat in the Netherlands, allowing customers to explore Amsterdam by water on a variety of fun vessels.

Brought to customers through a partnership with local company Boot Amsterdam B.V., Hertz Rent a Boat offers people the chance to cruise the city’s canals from gondolas, luxury motorboats, taxi boats, and open boats, with a selection of large boats able to accommodate up to 35 people.

Priced at hourly rates from just €5 per person or €150 per boat, the crafts are a perfect way to see the sights of the city.

As a special addition to the fleet, a special yellow Hertz Canal Cruiser is available for hire from €7 per person and can take as many as 20 people plus a skipper. The Hertz Canal Cruiser is located at the quay of Restaurant Liefde, Bilderdijkpark in Amsterdam.

Michel Taride, President of Hertz International, said, “We are excited to now include boats as part of our diverse rental offer. Amsterdam is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and with the canals at its heart there is no better way to explore. Whether renters are looking for a relaxing cruise along the water with an experienced captain or want an adventure as they navigate themselves round the city’s water ways, Rent a Boat is an ideal option.”

Alec Behrens, owner of Boot Amsterdam B.V., commented: “It is great to see the yellow Hertz Barge traveling along the canals of Amsterdam. The partnership with Hertz truly is a unique and fantastic collaboration for the rental industry. The water ways are iconic, so experiencing the city on a boat is a perfect sightseeing option.”

Renters will be able to hop on and off, mooring up and exploring a city rich in architectural history and sights – including the flower market, Royal Palace on Dam Square, the Westertoren church tower, Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum.

Large boats have various amenities available, such as a kitchen, bar, stern deck, audio system, toilet, and electricity, depending on the selected vessel. Customers also have the option of a private chef, barbeques, or tailor made catering services.
