Bangkok Airways (PG) and Malaysia Airlines (MH) have commenced codesharing.

Kuala Lumpur-based Malaysia Airlines will set its MH marketing flight code on Bangkok Airways' jet services for Bangkok-Koh Samui (31x weekly flights) Bangkok-Phuket (14x weekly flights), Bangkok-Chiang Mai (14x weekly flights), Koh Samui-Phuket (14x weekly flights) and Koh Samui-Kuala Lumpur (daily flight) whilst Bangkok Airways will codeshare on Malaysia Airlines' Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok (27 x weekly) and Kuala Lumpur-Phuket (14 x weekly) services.

The latest Bangkok Airways' daily return service for Kuala Lumpur-Koh Samui allows Malaysians and international passengers to fly direct into the island from KL International Airport (KLIA) without a stopover in Bangkok. It has convenient flight timings, departing KLIA at 08.25am to arrive Koh Samui at 9.05am whilst its return flight leaves the island at 18.00pm and arrives KLIA at 20.30pm which is convenient for international connections on Malaysia Airlines. The Koh Samui-KLIA service is Bangkok Airways' third international route into Samui island after Singapore and Hong Kong.

Malaysia Airlines Senior Vice President International Affairs, Mr. Germal Singh, said, "We are delighted with this cooperation with Bangkok Airways which is fast growing into Thailand's premier domestic and regional airline. With Malaysia Airlines' current 27 weekly services between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok and twice daily services between Kuala Lumpur and Phuket, the codeshare with Bangkok Airways nicely fits in the needs of our travelers. Our customers now have better travel options to Thai cities like Chiang Mai and also for circuit trips like KLIA-Phuket-Koh Samui-Bangkok-KLIA. The codeshare with PG allows us to improve our Thailand product as well as offer seamless connectivity to these sought after destinations whilst strengthening KLIA's position as a key gateway for travelers."
