Rwanda’s Silverbacks are banking on speedster Ignace Nsanzimana to propel them to glory on their third tour to Hong Kong this week.

The flying winger is one of two new players in the squad that will take part in the Altus Kowloon RugbyFest 10-a-side tournament at King’s Park on Wednesday, 21 March 2012.

“Ignace is probably the fastest player I have ever seen,” said tour organiser Dave Hughes. “We just hope he can get some space because he can really do some damage to the opposition.”

Olivier Uwamahoro is the other player making his Hong Kong debut as the Silverbacks look to land a trophy at RugbyFest after reaching the Plate final in 2010 and the Cup semi-finals last year.

Benjamin Makombe, making his third visit to the territory, will captain the 12-man squad.

“We have 10 players who have toured Hong Kong before and know what to expect, so we are aiming to record our best performance at RugbyFest,” said Makombe. “The boys have been training hard and are determined to win a trophy this year. We are looking forward to playing hard on the pitch and meeting many old and new friends off it.”

Apart from competing in RugbyFest, the Silverbacks will train with some of the elite teams who are in town for Hong Kong’s Festival of Rugby Week and complete a coaching course organised by the famous Penguins Coaching Academy. They will finish their visit by attending the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.

The Rwanda squad includes: Benjamin Makombe (capt), Felix Nsengimana, Jean Leonard Twizeyimana, Moise Habumugisha, Ismael Bikamba, Koko Marcel Cambara, Ignace Nsanzimana, Olivier Uwamahoro, Vincent Kamali, Juvenal Gatabazi, Aime Ndahirwa, Olivier Nikwigize.
