Daydream Island Resort and Spa has appointed Ral Italiano as Director of Sales.

Mr Italiano will work out of Daydream’s Brisbane sales office and brings over two decades of industry experience to the group having previously worked with a number of significant tourism and hospitality organisations.

His employment background includes roles with Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Japan Airlines and American Express. His most recent position was Group Director of Sales with Federal Group, one of Tasmania’s leading tourism and entertainment providers, whose properties include Freycinet Lodge, Cradle Mountain Lodge and Saffire Freycinet.

Mr Italiano is replacing current Director of Sales Suzy Bohan who, after a highly successful period with Daydream over many years, is leaving Daydream shortly due to the impending birth of her first child.

Mr Italiano’s focus will be on managing the sales and reservations departments, where he will oversee all markets including domestic and international groups, business plan development and operations, and key stakeholder relations.

Resort CEO Phil Casey said, “Ral brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in sales roles over the last twenty years both here in Australia and abroad, and having someone of his calibre heading up our sales department is indeed a strong addition to the Daydream group.”

The Daydream Island Resort and Spa is located in Queensland’s stunning Whitsunday Islands.

The hotel offers 296 rooms and suites, a Rejuvenation Spa, over 20 free guest activities and a unique man Living Reef lagoon where guests can touch baby sharks and de-barbed stingrays.
