Hopewell Hospitality Appoints Romain Chan as Director

Mr. Romain Chan has been appointed as the Director of Hopewell Hospitality Management Limited, the hospitality asset management arm of Hopewell Holdings Limited.

In his new capacity, Mr. Chan will oversee the company’s current hospitality assets and assist to develop future projects, including the company’s key project in Wanchai, the Hopewell Center II.

Mr. Chan has over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. Before joining Hopewell, he worked for international hotel chains such as Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt and Shangri-La in the United States, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam and China and held senior positions in hotel groups like Miramar, Harbour Plaza and Shangri-La.

Apart from serving the Tourism Strategy Group in the Tourism Commission, he is a respected member of the Associate of Social Science (Tourism) Programme Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Education, as well as the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Training Board of the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council.

Graduated from the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University, Mr. Chan later obtained a Master of Business Administration Degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Master of Management Degree from Macquarie University.

He is currently pursuing a Hotel & Tourism Management Doctorate Degree at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
