Plaza Premium Opens Lounge @ Edmonton Int. Airport

Plaza Premium Lounge has expanded its services in Canada, with the opening of a lounge at Edmonton International Airport.

Joining its sister pay-in lounge in the US Transborder Terminal, the latest addition located at the Domestic and International Terminal is open to both travelers arriving and departing Edmonton International Airport.

The new pay-in lounge sprawls across 4200-square feet and has a seating capacity of approximately 76 passengers, located at level 2 across the stairway of Gate 52.

Like the string of other fourth generation lounges by Plaza Premium Lounge opened in Asia, the outpost is designed by renowned Hong Kong designer Kinney Chan who has also designed some of Hong Kong’s most best-known restaurants.

Introducing a whole new look, the colour and tone is roast brown, gold and amber designed to provide a warming and welcoming ambience to travelers seeking a haven away from the crowds. There is a private room available for those seeking ultimate privacy. Dressed in New Zealand wool carpets, patterned marble and using the signature lush brown Plaza-signature sofa chairs, the new lounge is given a whole new look.

A generous spread of hot foods is offered throughout the day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner accordingly. In addition, two daily soups are offered, hot sandwiches and wraps are made-to-order, a salad bar and a dessert corner are two of the many food offerings.

Signature to other the fourth generation set of lounges, there is a dedicated beverage bar featured offering a selection of coffee drinks, beer and other alcoholic beverages on tap, and uniquely, for those seeking a healthy option, there is a new product - RedEspresso - a rooibos tea-based drink that can be made in the various ways coffee can be served such as RedEspresso Cappuccino, RedEspresso Latte. Each RedEspresso drink can be customised by flavour whether it is a caramel, hazelnut, vanilla, cinnamon boost that you would like – plus, there is no caffeine.

The new airport pay-in lounge will be open from 5am – 1.00 am daily.

Wi-Fi, complimentary local calls and fax services and computer workstations are available.

The pay-in lounge is priced at C$30 + tax for 2 hours lounge use; and C$35 + tax for 3 hours lounge use.

Located near Gate 88 at the US Transborder Terminal is the first Plaza Premium Lounge opened at Edmonton International Airport. It is a two-storey lounge with an innovative interior design that allows guests to enjoy a panoramic view of the airfield while waiting for their flights. The upper floor is designed for busy travelers who can have a quick bite before their flights whereas the lower floor provides a wider selection of food and drinks for the guests who have more time to enjoy in the lounge.
