Carlson Rezidor has expanded its portfolio of hotels in India with the opening of the Radisson Kandla in Gujarat, and the Radisson Blu Ghaziabad near New Delhi.

Carlson Rezidor now has 99 hotels in India in operation and under development.

“Our hotel brands are well represented in key cities such as Chennai, Delhi, and Hyderabad. In Delhi and the NCR (National Capital Region) alone, Carlson Rezidor has 19 operating hotels open and operating today. To further our expansion and continue our growth momentum, we are establishing hotels in emerging cities such as Kandla, India’s largest port as well as Ghaziabad, which is listed as among the top 10 most dynamic cities in the world by Newsweek. The Radisson Kandla and Radisson Blu Ghaziabad are both well positioned to be successful in capturing high end business and leisure travel, in line with the growth of their respective destinations,” said Simon C. Barlow, president, Asia Pacific, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

Radisson Kandla is an 117-room hotel, located in Gandhidham, a thriving commercial and industrial hub. Radisson Kandla is Carlson Rezidor’s first hotel in Kandla, a major seaport on the north west of India. It is also within easy reach of the airport, the railway station and Kandla Special Economic Zone (KSEZ). Tourists will find the hotel an ideal base to explore Rann of Kachch, Dhordo - the white desert and the serene Mandvi beach.

Radisson Kandla has 55,000 square feet of meeting space, which can accommodate up to 5,500 people. The hotel’s dining options include The Lounge – tea lounge and pastry shop, Waves - all-day dining restaurant, Asian Station restaurant and Marina vegetarian restaurant.

Recreational facilities include a mini theatre, virtual golf, a fitness centre with a squash court, an outdoor swimming pool, kids play zone and a spa.

Radisson Kandla is offering a special Grand Opening package from INR 3,999/- plus taxes. This offer is valid until 15 October 2012.

Radisson Blu Ghaziabad is a 147-room hotel, located in Ghaziabad which is emerging as one of the prime business and commercial locations in north India. It will be the first Radisson Blu for Carlson Rezidor in the eastern part of the National Capital Region (NCR) with proximity to Delhi, Noida and Meerut. Radisson Blu Ghaziabad's location makes it a convenient choice for business travel, shopping and visiting Indian landmarks including Akshardham Temple, the Formula One Circuit, Agra, Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Designed by internationally renowned architect Thom Catallo, the rooms are stylish and even feature Herman Miller chairs for ergonomic comfort. The hotel has meeting facilities, including pillar-less function rooms that can accommodate up to 1,500 guests and have the best in-built audio-visual BOSE equipment. The hotel’s dining options include Avatar – world kitchen offering all-day dining, Kama - a signature contemporary Indian vegetarian restaurant and Lust cocktail bar. Recreational facilities include a rooftop swimming pool and Spa Violet.

“International and domestic travelers can now continue to enjoy the World of Radisson at our two newest hotels in India, in Kandla and Ghaziabad. Guests at both hotels will experience the brand’s hallmarks including free internet, 100% guest satisfaction and late checkout. With these brand hallmarks, the Radisson Kandla and Radisson Blu Ghaziabad will be the top choices for travelers visiting Kandla and Ghaziabad respectively,” said K.B.
