Upgrading and renovations at Centra Coconut Beach Resort Samui are expected to be completed by the year-end.

The resort was added to the Centara Hotels & Resorts collection in July 2012 and the upgrading is to comply with the rebranding.

One of the prime attractions is the new Cense by Spa Cenvaree, which offers spa facilities for guests who do not require lengthy treatment programmes, and a fitness centre has been added.

The beachside pool area has been remodelled along with the swim-up bar in the lagoon pool, and new outdoor seating has been provided for the lounge and the restaurant.

Bicycles are being provided for guests who wish to explore the quiet surrounding areas of the island, and table tennis has been added to the leisure activities.

As extra assurance for families, the balcony railings at the second-floor rooms have been upgraded to make them childproof, a new fire alarm system has been installed, a new generator installed for emergency power backup, and kitchen equipment upgraded.

“This is an intimately scaled resort in a beautiful location and it has an air of exclusivity that we wish to enhance,” said Chris Bailey, senior vice president for sales and marketing at Centara Hotels & Resorts. “The Centra value brand is all about delivering quality without the extra facilities that may be above the needs of our guests, and Centra Coconut Beach is we feel an outstanding example of the brand. The upgrading and renovations make this a genuinely value-added resort that can be enjoyed by couples and families alike.”

Centra Coconut Beach Resort Samui is located on the secluded Thong Tanote Beach, on the southwestern tip of Koh Samui, with views across to Koh Tan and Koh Mutsum, two renowned diving and snorkelling spots.

Nestled amidst luxuriant natural surroundings the resort offers a variety of holiday experiences with the choice of poolside rooms and a villa set on the edge of the beach. The resort is a 15-minute drive from popular Lamai Beach and Nathon Pier where ferries disembark from the mainland.
