Regal Hotels International has partnered with EarthCheck.

Ms. Belinda Yeung, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Regal Hotels International said, “While we prepare ourselves for our long-term Sustainability Programs, we are going to start the ball rolling in 2012 with an important part of our Sustainability Program - We Love our Planet - an environmentally responsible Management Focus for this year.”

“Our aim is to engage our guests, our associates and their families throughout the sustainability process as well as maintain transparency through the EarthCheck Certification programme which will assist us in measuring and reporting our sustainability performance. A set of environmental policies and guidelines has been developed and the hotels will work closely with EarthCheck over the next 12 months.”

“Having already certified and benchmarked more than 1,300 organisations in over 70 countries, EC3 Global is highly regarded for its science-based approach,” explained Mr. Stewart Moore, CEO, EC3 Global. “There are no short cuts, no ways to buy your way in; it's a matter of being able to prove the integrity of an organisation's operational practices year-in and year-out, and then be willing to have everything verified by an independent, third party auditor. By taking a scientific approach to measuring the effectiveness of their sustainability practices, Regal Hotels International will be able to identify where they are out-performing other operators and where room for improvement remains.”
