On 11 October 2012, Centara Hotels & Resorts will assume management of the Sandy Beach Non Nuoc Da Nang Vietnam.

The property will undergo renovations and upgrading, a process that is expected to undertake one year during which the resort will remain open, and upon completion will be renamed Centara Sandy Beach Resort Da Nang.

“We are delighted to add this beautiful resort to our portfolio,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts. “This is our second resort property in Vietnam, which we feel is a very exciting tourism market, and this represents a strategic step in our expansion plans.”

Sandy Beach Non Nuoc Da Nang Vietnam is a four-star 118-room resort hotel located within 17 hectares of gardens on the beachfront at Non Nuoc Beach, Da Nang.

Room types currently consist of 61 standard, superior and deluxe, 52 bungalows, and five villas. The upgrading plan will increase the number of rooms by 80, taking the total to 198 rooms.

The history of the resort dates back to 1993 when, as the only state-owned luxury hotel in Da Nang, it was used to host 40 competitors from around the world in an international surfing competition.

With the proximity of the resort to heritage sites such as Hoi An, Hue and My Son, ease of access to the Marble Mountain, and with two championship golf courses nearby, the resort gained in popularity and in 2001 Non Nuoc Tourism Company entered into a joint venture with the Ben Thanh Group to enlarge and rebrand the property.

Resort facilities include two swimming pools, two tennis courts, a fitness centre, billiards, table tennis, beach volleyball and football, and a children’s playground.

The MICE sector will also be part of Centara’s marketing mix, as the resort has a large events room that can hold 250 guests for a reception, while for outdoor receptions and events the gardens and beachside can hold up to 1,000 guests.
