Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Friday, 9 September 2011

Korean Air has taken delivery of its fourth Airbus A380.

The aircraft left Toulouse, France on 7 September (local time) and arrived at Incheon International Airport on Thursday. The new aircraft will then go through the required flight tests and will make its debut flight on 10 September 2011.

With the introduction of the new aircraft, the airline will expand its A380 service from Seoul/Incheon to Paris (every Mon, Wed, Fri) from 26 September until 29 October and to Los Angeles (every Tue, Thu, Sat) from 10 October 2011.

Configured in a three-class layout with just 407 seats in total, the lowest configuration of any A380 operator so far, Korean Air's double-decker A380s feature cutting-edge amenities, with 12 First Class Kosmo Suites and 301 Economy Class seats on the main lower deck, and 94 fully lie-flat Prestige Sleeper seats in Prestige Class (business class) on the upper deck.

It also boasts unique in-flight facilities, such as a 'Duty Free Showcase' and a new onboard bar and lounge area.

Korean Air has ordered ten A380 aircraft, one of which will be delivered by the end of 2011 and the remaining five by 2014. The airline will gradually expand its A380 service to major destinations in Europe and North America.
