Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Tuesday, 8 November 2011

[HD video below] On Monday, at the World Travel Market 2011 (WTM) taking place 7-10 November at Excel in London, ASIA Travel Tips.com had the opportunity to sit with Mr. Danny Talbot, Managing Director of Thomas Cook Sport, and ask him about the company and about Sports Tourism in general.

In the HD video interview you will learn how the company works, where the idea for the company came from, which markets they are targeting, whether it is going more for FITs with direct bookings, or if it is still working with, and encouraging bookings through travel agents.

We also ask whether Thomas Cook Sport will be exhibiting at any trade shows in Asia Pacific next year, whether customers can book just tickets, and whether the hotels that it packages with the tickets are 4 and 5-star or whether there are cheaper options available to customers as well.

And it is not all about inbound sports tourism to the UK. Asia is home to some of the most exciting sporting events in the world, such as the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens and others, so we ask how Thomas Cook Sport is trying to increase the outbound segment of its business and which sporting events it is looking at, plus much, much more.
