Thailand-based Onyx Hospitality Group has been appointed by Methodist Church Limited (MCL) to manage the Wesley Hotel in the Admiralty district of Hong Kong commencing 1 February 2012.

The 250-room property is located on Hennessy Road, a prime business and commercial area on Hong Kong Island, just minutes’ walk from Pacific Place.

The property will undergo an extensive refurbishment programme and be relaunched as OZO at the Wesley, Hong Kong, in late 2012.

Unveiled in early 2010 as Onyx’s select service brand. OZO guestrooms will showcase fixtures and fittings traditionally featured in more luxurious levels of accommodation including plush carpeting, fully sound-proofed walls and doors, comfortable furniture and elegant bedding.

Facilities within OZO at the Wesley will include a restaurant, bar and some limited meeting space.

The hotel will also be one of the first in the city to make use of self check-in pods and orientation touch pads.

“We are truly delighted to have this unparalleled opportunity to debut the OZO brand in such a prime location in one of the world’s most vibrant cities,” said Peter Henley, Chief Executive Officer of Onyx Hospitality Group. “We believe that the property has enormous promise and Onyx’s North Asia office here in Hong Kong offers experienced management with knowledgeable local expertise, ensuring that OZO at the Wesley will meet its full potential.”
