Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Tuesday, 7 June 2011

Just last week, we celebrated the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong as the tallest hotel in the world, with an interview with Regional Vice President and General Manager, Mr. Mark DeCocinis. Now another Ritz-Carlton is setting records.

The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes has opened a 4,293 square foot (400 square meter) Royal Suite. In addition to being one of Central Florida’s largest luxury suites, the Royal Suite is also the largest suite of its kind throughout the entire collection of Ritz-Carlton hotels in the United States.

The suite features four bedrooms and four and one half bathrooms, a media room, a dining room seating 10 people with a fully outfitted pantry and numerous traditional and technological amenities.

Located on the 12th floor, the suite offers eight separate balconies with views of the lakes on property as well as the Greg Norman-designed golf course, which wraps around the resort.

“We’re very pleased to unveil the new Royal Suite, which combines the best amenities and accommodations to create an inspired atmosphere unlike any other luxury experience in Orlando,” said Jon McGavin, general manager, The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.

With plenty of living and closet space, including a spacious walk-in closet in the oversized master bedroom as well as seven high-definition televisions placed throughout (including the master bathroom), there is no lack of luxury in the Royal Suite.

Taking the in-room technology experience to the next level is the 60-inch High Definition Plasma TV in the soundproof media room featuring Dolby Digital Surround Sound, which envelopes guests with sonic stimuli. Guests can stay connected and keep the entire Suite at their command with the Wi-Fi Control Touch Panel, which provides instant, user-friendly access to lighting, temperature and control devices to customize the ambiance. iPod interface technology is installed throughout the Suite, which is also wired for Wi-Fi and high speed Internet access.

The suite’s pantry (with its own separate service entrance), features top-of-the-line appliances including a Sub-Zero Integrated Refrigerator, Miele Integrated Nespresso Espresso Machine, Wolf Integrated Drawer Microwave Oven and Miele Integrated Dishwasher.

The resort offers optimal proximity to Orlando’s major attractions and shopping: five minutes from SeaWorld and Aquatica, 15 minutes from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios; and 10 minutes from The Mall at Millenia featuring a luxury designer shopping experience including Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci, just to name a few.
