London to Sydney Bus Trip launches Promotion; Adds Singapore to Itinerary

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Monday, 7 March 2011

While costs of travelling across the globe by air are rising in the face of soaring fuel prices and APD tax, Oz-Bus offering a £600 discount on its 2011 departures from London to Sydney (next available departure - 4 September 2011 arriving in Sydney on 27 November 2011).

For good measure, the company is even throwing another country into the itinerary - Singapore - along with one of the greatest Australian drives of all – The Great Ocean Road.

The 85-day trip, which now crosses no fewer than 18 countries, three continents and takes in countless extraordinary adventures on its way to its final destination of Sydney is now £4,699 per person, down from £5,299.

Passengers seeking more in the way of creature comforts also have the option of upgrading to the new Comfort trip, which substitutes the dorm-style accommodation with twin share hotel rooms on sections of the trip.

Singapore is the latest country to be added to the route, which already reads like an atlas of the world. The multi-cultural island will add a fascinating dimension to the trip, particularly after the eye-popping, sense-assaulting journey through India and Thailand.

The popular city of Melbourne is also now included in the London-Sydney route, adding to the already iconic Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kings Canyon and the unique charms of Coober Pedy.

Those on a tighter time schedule, but still looking for the spirit of adventure, can take advantage of a discount on the shorter but no less thrilling routes of London to Kathmandu (save £150, now down to £2,599 per person) and Bangkok to Sydney (save £250, now down to £2,249).

Following passenger feedback from 2010 trips, Oz-Bus has also cut down on the number of travelling days to leave more time for adventures, which range from flying around Everest to crocodile and rhino safaris.

Leaving London’s Embankment, Oz-Bus rolls through France to Bruges (Belgium), Heidelberg (Germany), Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary), Belgrade (Serbia), Sofia, Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Istanbul, Cappadocia (Turkey), Esfahan, Tehran (Iran), Amritsar, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi (India), Chitwan, Pokhara, Kathmandu (Nepal), Bangkok, Ko Samui (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur, Melaka (Malaysia), Singapore, Jakarta, Yogyakata, Mt Bromo, Bali (Indonesia), Darwin, Kakadu, Alice Springs, Uluru/Ayers Rock, Coober Pedy, Adelaide, The Great Ocean, Melbourne and, finally, Sydney.
