International SOS (Malaysia) has appointed Simon Chin as General Manager.

Simon was most recently the Managing Director for ISS Consulting Asia Pacific where he successfully drove the company’s growth and profitability. He previously held the position of IBM’s Country Business Manager for the Banking and Financial Services for four years.

His distinctive corporate management experience and former leadership roles help strengthen International SOS’ position in the market and to continue to grow its business in corporate sectors that have international travellers, expatriates and a global workforce. He is also focussed in expanding International SOS’ business in the energy, mining and infrastructure industry that usually operates in a remote and high risk environment.

“I am honoured to have joined International SOS which has a mission to pioneer a new industry in international healthcare, medical assistance, and security services. We are the world’s leading provider for organisations whose employees and customers are traveling or working abroad,” said Simon Chin, General Manager of International SOS Malaysia. “More importantly, International SOS is committed to help organisations fulfill their duty of care: a company's obligation to protect its employees from risks. Safeguarding employees who travel abroad to high-risk locations on behalf of their employer is an increasingly complex task. Even in low-risk destinations, business travelers can be affected by medical conditions, accidents, natural disasters, or political unrest. I look forward to the challenge of supporting Malaysian enterprises going abroad with a 24/7 safety net they can count on.”

Simon Chin is a member of the American, British and Swiss Chambers of Commerce in Malaysia.
