Hertz Expands Roam Express Rental e-Pass Service in Australia

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Wednesday, 5 October 2011

Hertz Australia has introduced a new toll product for its customers in Victoria, enabling automatic payment when they drive a Hertz rental car on a toll road in the State.

The Victorian toll product has been launched by Hertz in partnership with toll road operator Transurban / Roam Express, following the recent successful launch of the product in the State of New South Wales.

“Toll roads are becoming increasingly common in Australia,” said Chris Rusden, Region Vice President, Managing Director Australasia for Hertz. “However, many leisure and business travellers from within Australia and from overseas do not know about the tolls or how to pay them.”

The expanded Roam Express Rental e-Pass enables motorists to pre-register their details for automatic credit card payment of tolls and fees in New South Wales and now Victoria.

The Rental e-Pass is activated once a customer travels on a toll road. If there is no travel on a toll road, no charges will apply.

This option provides peace of mind for participating Hertz customers in New South Wales and Victoria, not only by taking care of toll road fees automatically, but also by eliminating the risk of penalty for non payment.
