Sammy Carolus Joins Hyatt Regency Hua Hin as GM

Mr. Sammy Carolus has been appointed as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin.

An Indonesian national, Mr. Carolus has been working in the hospitality industry for over 19 years. He joined Hyatt in 1992 as a Sales Executive at Bali Hyatt and was soon promoted to Sales Manager. Then, in May 1996, he was appointed Associate Director of Business Development at Grand Hyatt Bali and subsequently promoted to Director of Business Development in 1998. He returned to Bali Hyatt as Director of Sales in October 2000. He took on his first international assignment as Director of Marketing for Hyatt Regency Hua Hin in 2003, being subsequently transferred to Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok in October 2004 in a similar position.

At the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, he was involved in launching the residence, a residential-style event facility; the opening of i.sawan Residential Spa & Club; the introduction of The Campus, a dedicated meetings facility within a hotel offering a university lifestyle theme; and the opening of Tables, an European restaurant with a tableside cooking concept.

He was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager – Sales and Marketing at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok in April 2009.
