The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, an iconic retreat of movie stars and celebrities for over 50 years, has joined Virtuoso Hotels & Resorts, one of the most prestigious luxury travel networks in the world.

The highly coveted endorsement as one of Virtuoso’s elite Property Providers cements Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club’s already impressive reputation, and gives the resort a widely recognized seal of approval from this global group of esteemed luxury travel agents.

Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club is set at the base of Africa’s second-highest peak, and was originally the retreat of movie star and Club founder, William Holden.

Former members include luminaries such as Winston Churchill, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, former US President Lyndon Johnson, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby.

Set among over 100 acres of landscaped gardens, the resort offers horseback riding, golf, croquet, a bowling green, and more within a short flight of Nairobi.

Visits to a nearby animal orphanage, nature walks and bird walks with the resident ornithologist are also available on the Club grounds.

With 120 recently refurbished guestrooms, suites and cottages, each furnished with a wood-burning fireplace, the resort is a popular retreat for travelers from all over the world.

The resort joins sister property Fairmont The Norfolk in Nairobi as a part of the Virtuoso network, among many other iconic Fairmont properties around the world.
