This year’s “Chefs with Altitude” gourmet festival at Swissôtel The Stamford, Singapore is all about Jamie Oliver.

A kitchen team from his London restaurant Fifteen will be indulging guests from 23 – 29 October 2011 in the Equinox restaurant on the 70th floor of the hotel, which is at the same time celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Also appearing will be the 3-Michelin-starred chef Bruno Menard, champion cocktail architect Richard Gillam and a selection of international DJs.

Managed by the Jamie Oliver Foundation, Fifteen has received worldwide acclaim since opening in 2002. The Fifteen concept consists of taking unemployed youngsters off the streets, giving them training and the chance of a better future and at the same time discovering talented new chefs.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to welcome the team from London to “Chefs with Altitude,” said Nigel Moore, Director of Food & Beverage Service, Swissôtel The Stamford, Singapore. “The philosophy and social responsibility behind this culinary institution are impressive. Guests will certainly be delighted with the Italian dishes prepared by these young, creative people.”

Another highlight of the gourmet week is the 3-Michelin-starred chef Bruno Menard, who will be delighting guests in the hotel’s JAAN restaurant.

The French chef began his career in the renowned Domaine d’Orvault in Nantes, going on to work at various Michelin-starred restaurants before emigrating to Japan in 1995. He now prepares his very successful “neo-classical” dishes at his own restaurant, L’Osier, in Tokyo’s Ginza district.

Richard Gillam’s life centres around cocktails. The star mixologist has been resident at Swissôtel’s Equinox Complex since 2010, winning countless accolades for his cocktail-mixing craft, including the 2010 Diageo World Class Championship. At “Chefs with Altitude”, he will be giving mixology fans master classes over four days, covering all manner of Martinis and Mojitos.

And those who like to dance can party into the night with internationally renowned DJs such as DJ Aaron Ross, DJ Hallex, DJ Niels van Gogh and DJ Tanja la Croix, who will be on hand to provide and energetic atmosphere both on the hotel’s helicopter pad and in the New Asia nightclub.
