Kunihiro Iwakiri Joins Oriental Residence Bangkok as DOSM

Oriental Residence Bangkok, the inaugural property for the newly-announced luxury project managed by Onyx Hospitality Group, has appointed Kunihiro Iwakiri as its Director of Sales and Marketing.

In his previous engagement, Mr Iwakiri held the equivalent sales position at Raffles Hotel Le Royal & Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in neighbouring Cambodia. In a hospitality and tourism industry career that spans more than 17 years, he has held various senior sales roles in numerous international destinations, including Singapore, Canada and Australia.

Mr Iwakiri first joined the hotel industry as a Tour Coordinator and was quickly promoted Sales Manager for a leading hotel in the resort town of Banff in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Over the course of a decade, he broadened his international expertise by moving to Asia in 2001 to join the Four Seasons Singapore in the role of Sales Manager. He was promoted to the position, Director of Sales for the Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. Then, he moved to Four Seasons Hotel Sydney and was in charge of Asia market.

In his new role, Mr Iwakiri will be responsible for the direction and development of a new sales and marketing team for the Oriental Residence Bangkok.

The 31-storey building is located on Wireless Road, a leafy area in the heart of downtown Bangkok celebrated for its shopping, embassies and the city’s largest public park. The property will feature 145 residences with personalized service within a mixed use development that will also house 46 privately owned condominiums on the upper floors of the building.
