Interval International, a vacation services provider and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group, has appointed Sherif Khalil to vice president of resort sales and business development for Middle East and North Africa.

Mr. Khalil reports to Darren Ettridge, senior vice president of resort sales and business development for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

Based in Dubai, Khalil is responsible for securing new resort affiliations throughout the region and providing service to existing affiliates. He will also pursue business development opportunities for Interval and Preferred Residences, the hospitality branded membership and exchange programme for luxury shared ownership resorts offered by an operating business of Interval Leisure Group.

“We are delighted to welcome Sherif back to Interval, as he is well respected in the region and is an outstanding addition to our team,” said Ettridge. “We believe there is great potential for growth in these markets and his expertise will enable us to enhance our standing in both.”

Khalil initially joined Interval as operations supervisor in its Cairo office in 1999. He was promoted to operations manager in 2002 and to general manager for Middle East and North Africa in 2003—a position he held until 2007. From 2008, he continued to work in the shared ownership industry until returning to Interval.
